| At the top of Lake St. Clair and at the mouth of St. Clair River, Harsen’s Island is home to many year round inhabitants and the St. Clair Flats State Wildlife Refuge. Great lake freighters travel up the eastern side of the island on their way to Lake Huron and the Soo Locks. On the southern end of Lake St. Clair is Windsor on the Canadian side, and across the strait, the suburbs of Detroit. Where Lake St. Clair meets the Detroit River, is the busiest inland waterway in the world. | |
